Learning a new computer learning system blows when you have a learning disability, because you quickly fall behind and it’s almost impossible to catch up.

Blackboard is the newest program which I have had to learn.

I had to drop a class because I didn’t understand BlackBoard-particularly how to make sure that the assignment was turned in.

This comes along with living with a learning disability.

Do I like BlackBoard?  Do you like getting paper cuts?

I think we understand each other now.

It’s not like anyone has a choice here.  This is the new system, and people like me are stuck with trying to learn it, but I’m slowly figuring it out.

People with learning disabilities have problems adapting to change.  Fortunately, I have an administration that is supportive and has spent time with me in learning this new system-although it’s safe to say that I’ll probably go through this again have within the next six months when another system is put in front of me.

That’s just the way it is, but it doesn’t make things any easier.

I just feel sorry for the undergrads who haven’t experienced it yet-especially those who have the same problem that I do.
