The American right-wing media wants you to mourn this day because conservatism is all about negativity and despair. September 11 is not the day that you think it is. It is a day of triumph-as long as you look at the correct year.
On September 11, 1814, the battle of Plattsburgh began. The British, under George Prevost, entered the state of New York from Canada. Captain George Downie of the British Navy started a battle against a smaller American fleet, but it was a case of David and Goliath, as Downie was killed by Commandant Thomas Macdonough’s fleet (1783-1824) during the engagement. Prevost retreated his naval fleet toward Canada and Macdonough prevailed in the fight. The inferior American navy had sent the British reeling back to the north.
This lopsided victory against the British was one of the main events which led to the end of the war between Great Britain and the United States of America in December of 1814.
This is not the September 11 that the American right-wing media wants you to remember, but it’s the one that I celebrate. Americans are supposed to be winners, not pussies. However, if the reader would rather hold his head in shame and cry like a woman, so be it-for you are weak and pathetic.
Do not lower the flag, raise it in triumph. If you lower the flag, you are a weak and pathetic coward, as those men lost friends on that day just the same as you might have seventeen years ago.
With Carrier jobs going to Mexico and Harley-Davidson jobs going to India, don’t you want America to win again? Well, aparently not-if you do as Donald Trump tells you, because everything is at full staff with me today, and I do mean everything. Stop bowing your head like the Republicans want you to. This is a day of VICTORY-as long as you look at the correct year, idiot!
