Don’t you just love it when conservatives use the excuse that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) when they engage in discrimination or judge teen mothers (who were most likely raped).
The theocrats in America scream that we need to return to God, yet I had a retired Christian police officer push me to the floor, with me crashing onto the hard flooring in the church, as he involved himself in a situation in which no one was in any danger.
I crashed onto my damaged left shoulder.
There are many passages in the Bible one must read in order to understand why Christianity is in so much trouble these days.
Cussing and discouragement
Ephesians 4:29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
Proverbs 18:19 A brother wronged is more unyielding than a strong city; disputes are like the gates of a barred citadel. (NIV)
Jude 1:22 Be merciful to those who doubt;
Proverbs 15:1 New International Version (NIV)
15 A gentle answer turns away wrath,
but a harsh word stirs up anger.
1 John 3:17 New International Version (NIV)
17 If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?
Matthew 25:42-46 New International Version (NIV)
42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’
44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’
45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’
46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”
Leviticus 19:9-10 New International Version (NIV)
9 “‘When you reap the harvest of your land, do not reap to the very edges of your field or gather the gleanings of your harvest. 10 Do not go over your vineyard a second time or pick up the grapes that have fallen. Leave them for the poor and the foreigner. I am the Lord your God.
Proverbs 3:27 ESV
Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it.
Conservatives and guns
Psalm 56:11 New International Version (NIV)
11 in God I trust and am not afraid.
What can man do to me?
Matthew 7:1-2 New International Version (NIV)
7 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
Church and State
Matthew 22:20-22 King James Version (KJV)
20 And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?
21 They say unto him, Caesar’s. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s.
22 When they had heard these words, they marvelled and left him, and went their way.
2 Corinthians 6:3 ESV
We put no obstacle in anyone’s way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry,
Conservatives as draconian moral crusaders who force abstinence.
1 Corinthians 7:9 But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.
1 Timothy 6:17 Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.
Income has nothing to do with marriage, so stop telling young people to wait.
Those in your family who struggle.
1 Timothy 5:8-But if any provideth not for his own, and specially his own household, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.
Luke 10:30-37 English Standard Version (ESV)
30 Jesus replied, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who stripped him and beat him and departed, leaving him half dead. 31 Now by chance a priest was going down that road, and when he saw him he passed by on the other side. 32 So likewise a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33 But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion. 34 He went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 And the next day he took out two denarii[a] and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, ‘Take care of him, and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I come back.’ 36 Which of these three, do you think, proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?” 37 He said, “The one who showed him mercy.” And Jesus said to him, “You go, and do likewise.”
Conservatives are going to Hell for their hypocrisy.
