Right Back in the Waiting Room

The Republicans have now told us what their plan on health care is- to go right back where we started.

It seems safe to presume that we’re going to return to the days when people were penalized for a pre-existing condition.

No more Medicaid and no more Planned Parenthood (that’s funny, see 1 Corinthians 7).

It seems safe to presume that women are just shit out of luck with regard to birth control–which is kind of funny, since the Bible tells their constituents how a sexual relationship is supposed to be conducted.  Read Song of Solomon and 1 Corinthians 7, and don’t fuck with me.  I know the Bible better than you claim to.

I make no claim that I’m holier than anyone.  I’m a sinful motherfucker.  However, anyone who claims that this nation needs Jesus Christ had better see to it that people have options so that they don’t engage in behavior that conservatives like to regulate (all while they engage in it-David Vitter, I’m looking in your direction!).

One of the problems might be that there are Tea Party Republicans who haven’t figured out what establishment Republicans already know; that you can’t jerk it.   You have to lure the masses.  Ronald Reagan’s handlers were great at helping him do this in the 1980’s, but the problem is that Reagan wouldn’t even recognize this Republican Party today-even he would label it as extreme.  The irony is that he had to run as an independent Republican at the 1976 National Convention because he was seen as being too far to the right of Jerry Ford and Bob Dole.

Even Reagan, as evil as he was, knew that you couldn’t just end programs like Medicare.  Reagan heeded Dwight Eisenhower’s warning (even though Medicare wasn’t in existence when Eisenhower made the quote).

Who is to blame for this?

We can blame the media if we choose to, but everyone in the American news media is nothing more than a patsy, as corporations own all of the information we see on the evening news.

We can blame the system-the same system-which has worked just fine for roughly 230 years (counting back to September 17, 1787).

We can blame the churches for teaching us to fear rather than to think for ourselves.

Or, we could blame you for not paying attention, not knowing the difference between the two major political parties, for wasting your vote on third parties, and not seeking out alternative sources of information-and by that I do not mean Russia Today.  I mean The Daily Mail, The Telegraph, BBC, and CBC.

I remember when Sicko premiered in theaters.  It was released during the W. regime.  Do you remember that film?  Maybe you should watch it so that you will know exactly what’s going to happen again.  All of this while the Republicans slash taxes for the rich at the same time, according to the MSNBC report, which was released at 3:34 Eastern Time.

Here is an upload of the Senate’s bill, courtesy of MSNBC.

REPUBLICAN SENATE’S BILL

We had this worked out.  This was challenged in the Supreme Court twice.  You had better hope this replacement fails, because you’re going to find yourself right back in the waiting room.
